Outdoor Education Centre (OEC) General Description
For over 25 years, The Kandalore Outdoor Centre has been providing quality outdoor recreation and education programs for schools and youth groups. We have worked with public, separate, and private schools from areas including Durham, Simcoe, Hastings, and Niagara County. We also work with businesses, agencies, educators, and other adult organizations offering unique and customized programs.
The Kandalore Outdoor Recreation and Education (KORE) Experience caters to participants from grade five to 12, as well as College and University students. Our program encourages participants to discover personal strengths and practice problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fun and challenging environment.
At Kandalore, we will provide one of our leaders for every 10 to 14 participants. Kandalore staff members are responsible for leading the program throughout the day and into the evening. This provides the visiting teachers and supervisors with the freedom to participate at their own pace and enjoy themselves in our natural setting without having to conduct the program themselves.
We also provide assistance in the planning and preparation stages of the experience. We will visit with the students, parents, and teaching staff to deliver an informative slide show and will work closely with our visitors to ensure that all the details of planning the trip are covered.
