For many campers, the Kandalore experience gets into heart and soul. They want to take their skills to the next level, and they want to give back to a new generation of campers. Our leadership programs give them that chance.

The Leader in Training (LIT) Program

For campers turning 17

A challenging nine-week program that includes training in leadership, counselling, and activity instruction. Leaders also receive certifications from ORCKA and the Life Saving Society. Campers who successfully complete the LIT program are ready to apply for a Counsellor job the following year.

 Pathfinder Leadership Scholarship

Earn a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend Camp Kandalore’s Pathfinder Leadership Program this summer!

What is the Pathfinder Program?
The Pathfinder Program is a one month Leadership Program that operates in July and August and is available to participants turning 16 in 2018. It combines an incredible Leadership experience with the development of hard and soft skills, along with a 5-day white water canoe trip down the beautiful Madawaska River.

Come to camp and earn a high school credit! All Pathfinders can come away with the following credit and certifications:
• Healthy Living and Outdoor Activities (PAD30)
• Emergency First Aid and CPR-C
• Bronze Medallion and /or Cross
• ORCKA Flatwater Certifications

From leader to counsellor
Many of our Pathfinder Leaders move on to become counsellors at Kandalore. Our leadership programs help build the skills, confidence and knowledge that young people need to be successful in today’s world.

A full Pathfinder Leadership Scholarship or Several partial Scholarships will be made available to qualified candidates

How to enter
Successful award recipients will be 16 year olds who demonstrate that they possess leadership potential and character,camp related skills, and the enthusiasm to be part of the program.

Applications for summer 2018 are due March 1st.
